Ark: Survival Ascended is an updated version of the original Ark: Survival Evolved. It provides many obstacles to gamers when they first start. You are placed into a hard world and must learn how to survive the dangers around you. You must figure everything out on your own if you want to make it through your first night safely.
To prevent frequent beginner blunders and secure your survival in Ark: Survival Ascended, we have compiled a list of eight essential recommendations to get you through your first few hours.
How To Play The Game
There are the following tips to help you how to play the game in the easiest way:
Pick The Right Starter Location
When you first start a game in Ark: Survival Ascended you will see a map that allows you to select where to spawn. Each spawn place is assigned a difficulty level. If you desire a simpler start in Survival Ascended, start in a region with a lower difficulty level.
The southern island areas, similar to Survival Evolved, are significantly safer spawn points. The southern spawns contain non-aggressive dinosaurs and other creatures that will not bother you while you establish your base and produce survival equipment.
Use Your Surroundings to Your Advantage
Once you have selected a spawn site your Survival Ascended adventure begins. Most spawn points have plenty of items you can use to help you survive especially in the first few hours.
Your first goal should be to make tools. You can gather resources such as stone and fiber as well as punch trees, to construct easy tools like a stone hatchet and pick.
These devices allow you to gather resources faster and collect items that you cannot obtain with your own hands. You can also locate food on the ground, such as berries, to help you stay healthy.
Allocate Your Stats Properly
As you gather resources and learn the fundamentals of Survival Ascended you will level up. Leveling up allows you to increase several stats such as health, water, food, and melee damage.
While you will eventually need all of the numbers prioritize health and stamina for life, whereas weight and oxygen levels can wait till later. In the first few hours, prioritize melee damage, food, health, stamina, and fortitude.
Do Not Worry About a Shelter
One of my largest mistakes in Ark: Survival Evolved was trying to build a huge shelter early on. This is not practical with limited resources. I built a small structure in Survival Ascended that covered basic needs like cooking, crafting, and sleeping.
This is all you need at first since you will not have enough resources for anything larger. Also choose a base location close to the beach, a cave, or the forest edge to avoid aggressive creatures.
Collect Every Berry You Find
One of the best basic ideas from Ark: Survival Evolved still applies in Survival Ascended: berries. They are the ideal early food source because they improve health, can be found anywhere, and do not require cooking. Berries are also used to tame certain dinosaurs.
However, they spoil if not consumed within a specified time frame. In Survival Ascended, repeatedly interacting with green bushes will allow you to obtain berries. There are numerous sorts, but most provide similar benefits.
Make a Bed
A bed is one of the first things to build after setting up a basic base. It helps you to travel quickly past, the night and revive if you die. Without a bed, you will be returned to your starting point if you die which is inconvenient if you have a foundation.
To make a bed you must reach level 7 and unlock the Simple Bed Engram which requires eight Engram Points. You will also need the Hide Sleeping Bag Engram which you unlocked earlier. Once you have these, you can make the Simple Bed using 30 fiber, 40 hides, 80 thatch, and 15 wood.
Avoid PvP Servers
It’s best to start on a solo server if you’re new to Ark While the idea of a PvP server might sound exciting.
PvP servers are usually filled with experienced gamers who might grieve you while you are just trying to learn the game. On a solo server, you can get used to the game in a more controlled setting.
Once you have a good grasp of the basics you can try joining a PvP server but keep in mind that players there can still be tough on newcomers.
Do Not Stress Out About Dying
This tip is more about mindset than gameplay. In Ark: Survival Ascended, practically everything seeks to hurt you and death is unavoidable. You will die several times and that is okay.
Accepting death as a necessary part of the game and focusing on understanding the mechanics will allow you to progress more quickly. You will be alright if you have basic tools a shelter with a bed and lots of food. Remember that mastering Ark requires time, so do not be afraid to die and learn from your mistakes.
